Sri Lanka's first automated motor vehicle production line of Micro Cars was opened at the Polgahawela Industrial Zone by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday April 18,2014 . Chairman Dr. Lawrence Perera said that the facility can assemble up to 2,800 vehicles monthly. Dr. Perera said new technology should be introduced to the villages if the country was to be developed.
